Detail of St. John's Church in Magdeburg
Original Caption
"A group of people sharing joint interests in rebuilding St. John's church enabled reconstruction to go ahead in 1998/1999. The fact that four other churches had been blown up in the city in the sixties, at last became the key case for rebuilding. St. John's is the last twin-tower Gothic church still seen in the Old Town." (from: Stadt im Wandel. Magdeburg zwischen 1990 und 2006, in vergleichenden Fotografien von Werner Klapper, 2.
